The artist behind Spilled Ink

Neringa Zibaite

Neringa Zibaite is a Lithuanian artist living in Norway. Her work is built with dip pen and ink — small repeated lines, cross-hatching and strong contrasts that create depth between the realistic and the imagined.

Her background spans Decorative Textile Design at Kaunas College in Lithuania and further studies at Artschool KIR in Stavanger. Nature, dreams and inner worlds remain constant sources of inspiration: organic forms, strange creatures and quiet, surreal landscapes.

Neringa is a member of NFUK (the Norwegian Association of Independent Artists), following a selective admission process. Her member gallery profile: https://www.nfuk-galleri.no/artist/neringa-zibaite/

The technique is patient and tactile. Each drawing is built layer by layer in ink — dense hatching, open space and sharp edges — until the motif gains weight and breath. It is slow handwork, where the line both describes and conceals.

Her themes often circle the organic and the dreamlike: roots, lungs, animals and landscapes that tip between familiar and strange. The aim is not illustration, but atmosphere — a space where the viewer can linger.

As Spilled Ink, the original drawings are also offered as signed and numbered limited-edition Giclée prints — for those who want to live with the work in museum quality. From studio to print, the process stays close to the original: careful respect for the line, archival paper, and editions that remain limited.

Process films on the site show how the works come into being, and the gallery gathers them at full scale.

The prints are made on Canson Infinity Edition Etching Rag 310 gsm, signed and numbered, and include a certificate of authenticity. Each motif is a limited edition.
